Every designer at some point of time thinks he can never satisfy the client. You don't have to be an artist to make your design look good, all you need is tons of tricks that can improve your work.

Introduction

An example of a successful web development company in Pakistan is CyberVision that is known to provide the best web development services, operating from Islamabad.

7 Tips for Ensuring a Good Design

1. Use Color and Weight to Create Hierarchy

A common mistake of designers is relying too much on font size. If they feel some text is important, they increase font size. Instead of creating a hierarchy with text size, you can add colors or font weight to differentiate the particular text and this can serve your purpose.

2. Avoid Grey Text on Colored Backgrounds

If you want to create hierarchy, having text color closer to the background is the way to go about it. You need to choose a color of the same hue as background, adjust saturation and light till it looks correct.

3. Offset your Shadows

Add vertical offset to make your box shadows more noticeable. It gives it a more natural look if the light source is shining down from above. This rule also applies on inset shadows, for example, when you are signing in, the inset shadows are the email address and password written in grey in the boxes.

4. Use few Borders

When you want to separate two elements, don't always opt for borders. They are not the only way and using them can make the design look cluttered. One can use box shadows, two different background colors and extra spacing also.

5. Don't Blow Up Icons

While designing something that uses large icons, such as features section, you might grab the free icon set and increase the size. These are vector images and increasing their size won't affect the quality of your design anyway.

6. Use accent borders to a plain design

A simple trick that can add a visual flair to your design is to add colorful accent borders to parts of your interface that would otherwise appear bland. A graphic designer is not needed to add a colored rectangle to your design, for example, along the side of an alert message.

7. Not every button needs a background color

Semantics are essential part of button design but we have to remember the most important part, that is, hierarchy. Every action on the page is prioritized according to hierarchy. We can randomly assign colors to all actions.

Actions Related to Semantics

  • Primary actions: They have to be obvious, which means dark contrast background colors should be used.
  • Secondary actions: These need to be clear but not prominent so outline styles or lower contrast background colors are great options.
  • Tertiary actions: These need to be discoverable. The best option is to design these in forms of links.

Conclusion

The digital world is highly competitive, work on these small details and start designing amazing graphics for your clients.
